Mbongo Fish Recipe
2 fishes (preferably cat fish)
2 tablespoon heap MammyDoro mbongo seasoning
1 cup of vegetable oil
1 large onion
½ cup of peeled garlic
½ cup of peeled ginger
1 large tomato
1 cup of ground raw peanut
Add pepper to taste
Add salt/maggi to taste
- Wash fish with lemon or lime and let it drip
- Blend tomatoes, onion, garlic and ginger, (pepper if needed)
- Cut fish into steak sizes
- Add salt and maggi to taste
- Add two tablespoons of mbongo seasoning and mix properly
- Pour blended mixture over fish and mix
- Heat oil for 2 minutes
- Reduce heat and add marinated fish to oil
- Mix ground peanut with a cup of water and add to fish
- Reduce heat and cook slowly until groundnut is cooked
- Serve with rice or boiled half ripe plantains or yams
