African Chew Sticks (Licorice Root) - Peppermint
Also called Licorice Root, these chew sticks are used in Africa and other countries as a toothbrush. The chewing action helps clean the teeth, freshen the breath, and can be used to help to stop smoking. How to use: After meals, chew one end of the stick's end and use to clean the teeth and in between the teeth, as you would a toothbrush. To help prevent smoking: Chew on the stick slowly until the urge subsides. Even though these sticks are used in other cultures for oral hygiene, these chew sticks are also enjoyed by Americans everyday.
Licorice History:
Licorice has been known in history to treat problems of the gastrointestinal and urinary tracts for many years; it is also used in many remedies for sore throats. It has been used to relieve the symptoms of asthma, bronchitis, heartburn and indigestion.
